Julia has been sailing in her father’s Lightning since she was born. She began taking lessons at the Temple Reef Sailing School in Amethyst Harbour and received her own Optimist at the age of 9.  She spontaneously jumped into the Byte for the Western Canada Summer Games in 2003 and joined the Manitoba Provincial Team.  She moved on to the Radial in 2005 and has participated in events such as Canadian Youth Nationals, CORK, Canada Summer Games and Lightning North Americans.  Julia is passionate about sailing and continues to sail, coach and race at every chance she gets! She is looking forward to competing in the Student Yachting World Cup in France and is proud to represent the Temple Reef Sailing Club, Queen’s University and Canada!
